Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Weekend 2025

Celebrate the life and legacy of a civil rights icon.
Commemoration Brunch will be Saturday, January 18th at Calvary Family Life Center. 1414 Bronson St. 10:00 am

The Martin Luther King Jr. Legacy Walk will be Monday, January 20th and participants are asked to arrive at the corner of St. Johns Avenue and Fourth Street at 10:30 a.m. No application is needed.

The walk will begin at 10:45 a.m. after greetings from City Commissioner Justin Campbell, who also serves as the president of the African-American Cultural Arts Council of Putnam County. There will also be a prayer before the walk begins.

The Freedom Walk will traverse down St. Johns Avenue and end at the riverfront, where the festival in King’s honor will take place from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Highlights of the festival include entertainment, food and clothing vendors. Organizations and businesses will be on hand to promote their services.
