Perhaps you drove over to our little town just for the day…or maybe you’re staying in one of our historic bed and breakfasts that are within walking distance of central downtown. Downtown Palatka has quirky, historical, scenic spots to explore that are just…Uniquely Palatka.

Start at one of the state’s oldest Dairy Queens for a Dilly bar – like stepping back in time. Save room for lunch, so you can enjoy a Black Bottom sandwich and onion rings in Florida’s Oldest Diner – Angel’s Restaurant. You may see students seated on benches outside working on art projects, many of them attend Florida School of the Arts and live in lofts downtown.

Continue your way along St. John’s Avenue touring shops and antique stores, event spaces, and bars and restaurants. At the end of your stroll, you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the mighty St. John’s River.

Sure…maybe Palatka is a little quiet, but we like it that way. We think you will too.
