Since the 18^th century Palatka has drawn nature lovers and adventurers to enjoy all that the St. Johns River has to offer.  In the late 19^th century Palatka became the main tourism destination for river tours, fishing and relaxation in Florida.  The St. johns River and our nature offers a wide variety of recreational activities such as fishing, boating, kayaking, hiking, biking, hunting and equestrian riding.  There are national trails, state parks, county parks, national and state forests and historical sites, and fun for all.
